During week 6, we have gained basic skills in after effects and explored its capabilities.

''Goodbye Sober Day'' by Jules Guerin

This example show very experimental approach towards the moving type. I like this piece, because it is mainly made of flat shape layers, but still seems very complex. Also, it has great precision of music co-working with the shapes. This illustrates how even most basic tools in Adobe Indesign, such as rotation/position, can create

''Sasquatch!''

Unlike previous example, this animation has a depth and dimension, this is due parallax effect, which allows to shift layers of image according to desired effect. I think this is very effective method of enhancing an animation to the whole new aesthetics. The style of ''Sasquatch'' is very eye pleasing, it uses both textures and illustrations that work well together, it is also very suitable for character-based narratives.

"Blade runner''

This is an example of completely different approach. It is based on the movement of virtual camera and set of many images that look as a whole due to angle. This type of approach, unlike the Sasquatch, present even more movement and 360c angle. The style feels very deviant, technological and almost abstract. Although this is very interesting piece to look at, we decided not to consider them as a potential final video aesthetics.

Gump is an interesting example of commercial use of animation, in this case, nokia phone was used to create this stop motion. Despite being part of branding and advertising, Gump is not suggesting consumerism. Instead, it serves as a powerful tool of differentiating the principles of ad campaigns. Another element that I enjoy in this piece of animation, is the contrast between two materials: sand and plasticine, that serve as a combination of nature and artificial.

The memory of fountain

This is one of our groups favourite animations, and something to which we refer as successful outcome. The textures in this video are very pronounced and create unique mood of mystery. In combination with interesting illustrations, careful sound design and calm pace, it leaves a pleasant viewing experience. We consider similar style os aesthetics for our potential use.
