Todays workshop will involve making a character from everyday materials and explore how abstract forms can evolve into a creature, but before we start I want to introduce you with a book that should help me in this process.
Mess by Keri Smith

This is excellent almost meditative book, which is not in fact a book. For example, it asks the readers to drop some kind of coloured liquid (ink, tea, coffee) onto a page from a good height, draw in the dark (or with eyes closed), creatively misspell words, paint a picture in a water-based medium (pen, marker, watercolour, etc) and leave it out during a rain or snowstorm, etc, etc. It builds strong interaction between the reader and the book pages and allows to create something unexpected. Unfortunately this is property of Greenwich University library, so I could not enjoy it to full extent. Its purpose is to create without thinking, making unexpected forms and noticing beauty in random shapes. Based on that, I decided not to plan my character in advance and rely on chance and intuition.

Living with Adele
I have spent and entire week with my creation, and would like share this unusual experience of dragging around attention seeking, pineapple like creature. Overall, the experience of living with Adele was useful to understand her characteristics fully. For example, she expressed her arrogance and attention seeking by trying to be in every picture I took.
Social life
Our characters now live their full lives and have even started their own social lives in social media platforms. There is some insight into Adele's Facebook profile. She did found the social platforms quite useless because she prefers real life interactions, and that is where she takes her energy from.
